In case you can't work it, it's about someone known as the "Poe Toaster" who comes to visit his grave every day on the day of his birth, and leaves behind 3 red roses and a half-empty bottle of good cognac.

I looked at the post and thought it was interesting that a church historian would claim to be the toaster. I'm wondering why he didn't do his research to find out when the tradition actually started before claiming to be the originator. Whoever the toasters really are, it preserves the mysteriousness of Poe and his reputation. What other way would immortalize Poe as his fans and admirers see him? Absolute genius to come up with the idea! I also think it's great that they leave a "good" cognac for him since we know he had some financial issues. I wonder, who gets the cognac?
I heard about this when I was younger. My dad used to promise he'd take me before I graduated high school but alas I haven't gone! I think it is a known fact, or atleast the old currator at the Poe museum commented on this, that Cognac was his favorite drink. If you go to the ABC store you will find grenadine liqour named after Poe.
